CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County are providing new details on Thursday's standoff situation in Richland Township.
According to the affidavit, police have identified the suspect as 41-year-old Jordan Confer.
Richland Township police say officers were dispatched just before 6 a.m., to a residence along Dowling Road, for reports of a suicidal male with gun.
Authorities say Confer was identified as the suicidal male and witnesses say he reportedly fled the scene to a residence along Banyan Drive, prior to police arriving.
Investigators say one of the victims at the Dowling Road residence told police that she woke up, around 3 a.m., and found Confer standing in her bedroom "intoxicated and naked."
Police say Confer then reportedly tried to have sex with the woman, whom authorities learned he had a prior relationship with.
Investigators say that Confer removed the woman's pants and told her, "either call the cops or have sex with me."
Police say Confer continued to attempt to have sex with the woman and reportedly "restrained" her inside the bedroom for approximately one hour.
Authorities say the woman stated that she was eventually able to call one of Confer's relatives, who came to the home.
Police the woman stated that she briefly escaped the bedroom to speak with the relative, at which time Confer reportedly entered the kitchen-area of the home and began pointing a gun at his own head.
Authorities say Confer allegedly made repeated threats to harm himself with the gun, as well as threats to shoot his relative.
Police say that at one point during the altercation, Confer reportedly "pinned" the woman against a door, pointed the gun at his own head and told the woman that he was going to shoot himself and that the bullet would " travel through him and hit her."
Investigators say Confer repeatedly prevented the woman, and her children, from leaving the residence.
Police say the relative was later able to exit the home, at which time another struggle ensued between the woman and Confer, and the victim stated that she was able to grab her children and flee the residence.
According to the affidavit, as the relative was calling 911, Confer reportedly left the home.
Police say the woman told officers that she believed he was going to an old residence along Banyan Drive.
Authorities say Cambria County SERT was dispatched to the Banyan Drive residence, where they made contact with Confer.
Police say Confer eventually surrendered, without incident, around noon.
According to online court records, Confer was arraigned Thursday evening on a variety of charges, including rape, indecent assault, unlawful restraint and multiple counts of reckless endangerment and child endangerment.
He is being held at the Cambria County Prison on $300,000 bail.
