STATE COLLEGE, Pa — One popular downtown State College store is teaming up with Penn State during the pandemic.
The Family Clothesline launched a limited edition Penn State t-shirt with a portion of sales going to help students in financial crisis.
“We knew that hope is a really important thing at this point. We wanted to create hope that there’s going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. We wanted to help the students that have been so tremendously affected by the changes in their lives and daily routines," says Caroline Gummo, chief operating officer of Family Clothesline.
The limited edition t-shirt is $15 with $5 of sales going to Penn States Student Care and Advocacy Emergency Fund.
“For the design we wanted to do something that really captured what’s going on right now. 'We Are Penn State' is one of the most classic phrases for PSU but we wanted to pair it with inspirational phrases too,” says Gummo.
Gummo says it's more important than ever for all of the Nittany Lion community to come together during this difficult time, and to let students know, State College misses them.
“We can’t wait to see them back here. There is hope that this will pass and we all want to look forward to more normalcy in our lives and however we can help and support our community and the students... we want to do that,” says Gummo.
Although Family Clothesline's doors are closed, shirts are available for purchase on their website at www.pennstateclothes.com.
