Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — A candlelight vigil was held Tuesday evening for the 10-year-old boy that accidentally drowned in the Stonycreek River this past weekend.
Dozens of people showed up to remember Dakota Locher after authorities say he reportedly fell into the river trying to retrieve a lost toy.
“Dakota was a good boy. He loved God, and mostly, when I would tell him something he would do it. But this time they just wanted to have a good time, I guess. He slipped away and that was it. And this tore me apart,” his grandfather told 6 News.
If you would like to help with Dakota’s funeral expenses, you can donate through his GoFundMe page.
