Jessica Vamos, the Executive Director at the Humane Society of Cambria County, brought a senior dog to the 6 News studio Tuesday morning. Lee is a Pitbull/Lab mix. They believe he is between 8 and 10 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is very loving and enjoys lots of treats! Lee has elevated kidney functions but it is manageable. He’s hoping to find a foster home or a forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Lee, the shelter’s number is (814) 535-6116 and the e-mail is cambriacountyhumanesociety@gmail.com. The Humane Society of Cambria County has some fundraisers and events coming up. They are having a promotion with Sunseekers from January 27th to February 7th. If you get a spray tan, some of the proceeds will go back to the shelter.
Also, February is the shelter's 'Open Your Heart' campaign. If you go into participating businesses during that month, you will see paper hearts hanging up and you can make a donation to the shelter.
The Humane Society of Cambria County is also hosting Comedy night 2020 on Saturday, February 15th. Doors will open at 6 p.m. And showtime is at 7 p.m. The event will be at ace’s on chestnut street in Johnstown. Now let's take a look at some other adoptable animals. This is Salt at the Humane Society of Somerset County. Her breed is different than other cats. She's what's called a 'swimming cat,’ she doesn't mind being around water! Salt is quite friendly and would love to have a new family. Her owner could no longer care for her. She gets along with cats, dogs and children. Give her a chance today! If you want to adopt Salt, you can call the shelter at 814-443-2121. They also have a Facebook page and a website.
Meet Chester from Centre County Paws. He's a 3-year-old American Staffordshire/Terrier mix. He is good with dogs and is house trained. Chester spent a lot of time locked in a shed with his brother and now wants to be someone's companion and sidekick. There is no adoption fee for Chester, a paws guardian angel paid for it! If you would like to adopt Chester, call the shelter at (814) 237-8722. They also have a Facebook page and website.
This is Althea from the Central PA Humane Society. She is a very sweet and loving girl. This pretty kitty would be happy as a lap cat, she loves laying around and sleeping all day. The shelter believes Althea would be best in an adult only, only pet home. You can reach the shelter on Facebook or on their website. You can call the shelter at (814) 942-5402.
This is Phoenix at the Huntingdon County Humane Society. She's a 3-year-old Coonhound mix. She was surrendered to the shelter when her family could no longer take care of her. If you would like to adopt Phoenix, call the shelter at (814) 643-7387. They also have a Facebook page and website.
Here's a gorgeous pup with Helping Hearts and Healing Tails animal rescue. Her name is Gypsy! We're told she's been through a lot but she's a wonderful dog. She's a 7-year-old boxer mastiff mix. Gypsy loves people but must be the only dog, she seems to be ok with dog-friendly cats. She's fully vetted and ready to go to a loving home. You can reach the rescue on Facebook or call them at 814-421-7078. They also have a website.
And here's Chloe with Habitat for Hounds animal rescue. The German Shepard/Rottweiler mix is 6 to 7 years old. She's hoping to find a foster or furever home. Chloe is overweight and has arthritis. With the help of an active family and good diet, she'll feel much better. She has a whole lot of love to give to her next family! If you'd like to welcome Chloe into your home, you can reach out to the rescue on Facebook or on their website. You call the rescue at (814) 262-5467.
If you're interested in adopting any of these animals. Just reach out to the shelter or rescue.
