Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County say a Johnstown man was killed earlier this week in a motorcycle crash on Route 30.
Investigators say the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday along the 3000 block of US Route 30 in Derry Township.
Officials identified the operator of the motorcycle as 39-year-old Shawn Pynos.
Investigators say Pynos was traveling westbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway and into a gravel area.

Man faces murder charge in DUI crash death of 6-week-old
Perry County, PA — A Perry County man is facing murder charges for the death of a 6-week-old in a DUI crash on New Year's Eve, police say. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were called to a single vehicle crash in Greenwood Township, Perry County around 9:00 PM on December 31, 2021.
During the investigation, police say it was discovered Kevin Kissinger was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with Handy Delivery Inc. announced that the company has made the decision to discontinue its taxi service at the end of the month, according to a press release.
The family-owned business has served the State College area since 1981, the release adds.

Amy Arcurio named Greater Johnstown superintendent
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A new superintendent has been named in the Greater Johnstown School District. It's the first permanent superintendent since November 2016.
It was a unanimous decision to appoint current Assistant Superintendent Amy Arcurio to the position. She replaces substitute Superintendent Frank Frontino.
The Greater Johnstown School District has had substitute superintendents since November 2016, when then-Superintendent James Cekada went on paid sabbatical leave.
After his retirement this summer, Frontino was appointed substitute superintendent and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association led the search for a permanent leader.

Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities say an Everett man is facing charges after items used to make meth were allegedly found in the attic of his home.
Investigators say on November 10th, Everett Police were called to assist Bedford County Children and Youth Services for a welfare check at 39-year-old Michael Golembeski’s North Spring Street home.

Popular Texas restaurant destroyed in fire
HILL COUNTRY, Texas (WOAI) — The beloved Hillbillyz of Texas restaurant was destroyed by a major fire on Tuesday, according to fire crews.
Hillbillyz is located just 17 miles outside of Boerne. Several departments, including firefighters from Kendalia, Sisterdale, Bergheim, Boerne, and Waring were called to battle the blaze.
