Westmoreland Co., PA — Authorities say a Johnstown man was arrested Wednesday in Westmoreland County after attacking and injuring an officer during a drug bust.
Police say Cortez Haselrig, the son of Johnstown native and former Pittsburgh Steeler Carlton Haselrig, was taken into custody at the Giant Eagle parking lot in Ligonier.
Authorities say Haselrig was in possession of approximately 50 grams of raw fentanyl.
Authorities say police also searched his Johnstown home, located along the 100 block of Churchill Street, and found even more fentanyl.

The Cow reopens after year-long hiatus
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — "The Cow" -- which has sat off Route 56 in Pleasantville for over 60 years -- just began their very busy 2021 season.
"When we opened this year, it's been unreal," said Co-Owner Linda Claycomb.
"At times, there's an hour wait for food. Unless they have something going on, they will wait."
Part of the reason: customers missed it.

Woman dies after crash on RT 322 in Philipsburg
PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — One person has died following a two-vehicle crash in Philipsburg.
Pennsylvania State Police in Rockview identified the victim as Taylor Harpster, 27, of Philipsburg.
The crash between an SUV and tractor trailer happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Railroad Street and East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough.
Police said Harpster failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line hitting the tractor trailer head on.

FDA lists dog food brands linked to heart disease
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Food and Drug Administration wants pet owners to be aware of what's in their dog's food and how it could impact their pet's health.
It's continuing to investigate a connection to certain dog food ingredients and canine heart disease.
Many of the foods that are being investigated are labeled as grain free with main ingredients like peas, lentils and potatoes.

Former student who admitted to vandalizing Nittany Lion statue ordered to complete probation program
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A former Penn State student who was charged last year with vandalizing the Nittany Lion statue at the University Park campus has been approved for an ARD probation program in Centre County court.
Police say Julia Cipparulo admitted to breaking off one of the lion's ears and splashing red paint on it.
Officials say the court program also requires Cipparulo to undergo a mental health evaluation and pay nearly $42,000 in restitution to the university.

PennDOT lifts speed restrictions on area roadways
UPDATE |PennDOT has lifted the temporary speed restrictions that it had issued earlier Tuesday for several area highways.
ORIGINAL | As more winter weather moves through the region Tuesday, PennDOT has issued several speed reductions for multiple area roadways.
PennDOT is also advising motorists to avoid unnecessary travel.
Officials say speeds have been reduced to 45 mph on the following roadways:
