BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WJAR) — A 20-year-old man is facing charges after his 17-year-old girlfriend was found dead inside a home in Massachusetts. The "suspicious death" of Nevaeh Goddard happened Friday at a home on Great Road in Stow, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office. Police were called to the home around 4:30 p.m. for a well-being check. LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — A father was sentenced to immediate parole on involuntary manslaughter of his 19-month-old daughter. According to our newsgathering partners at the Times Leader, James Robert Kasisky Jr. was sentenced to immediate parole for the Dec. 2022 death of his daughter Phoenix. Investigation showed that Phoenix was left in her room for 26 hours in a high-heat, low-humidity environment without nutrition or hydration. VAL D'ISERE, France (AP) — A group of American skiers are taking it all off in an effort to raise some money. Five female and six male ski racers have joined together to pose in a nude calendar they hope will help them overcome high costs — and scarce funding — on the professional ski tour. Called "Under the Suit: The Bodies of the Ski Team," the calendar features the skiers in naked action shots: Either on the slopes or mountain biking in Chile and New Zealand, or pumping iron at their local gym in Park City, Utah. ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — After winning a state championship, one local youth hockey team is now looking to become national champions next month. In their first year of being able to compete for a state championship, the Mid-State Mustangs took home gold in Pennsylvania, and now they will go on to compete for a national championship in April. DuBois, PA — On Sunday, the DuBois Dream minor league basketball team tipped off their 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Officials say precautions were in place to protect players from the coronavirus. Since February, the DuBois Dream's entire season was cancelled because of the pandemic. Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — According to acting Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar, a Somerset man is behind bars following a late night traffic stop by state police. Officials say Connor Christner, 25, was reportedly found with heroin, cocaine, MDMA and multiple firearms late Wednesday night. Authorities say troopers conducted a traffic stop of Christner's vehicle after it appeared that he was impaired. Investigators say police discovered a needle inside the vehicle, which prompted a search. [Read More]

A new report, released by Animal Equality, identifiedOklahoma-based chain Sonic as a restaurant that continues to use crates for pregnant pigs. Alongside 13 other popular restaurants, Sonic utilizes 'gestation-crates,' which are metal cages used to confine pigs for all or a part of gestation. According to Animal Equality, these cages measure two feet by seven feet, close to the size of the animals' bodies.
