WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Bette Nash flew for almost 67 years, joining Eastern Airlines back in 1957, when flights cost $12 and required no reservations. Her role at Eastern eventually brought her to American Airlines after American acquired some of Eastern's assets in 1990. Nash, who lived in Manassas, Virginia, and was based at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, was a mainstay for decades on flights from DCA to Boston and New York, routes she chose to be able to be home every night in order to take care of her son who has Down syndrome. Greensburg man dies following apartment fire in Westmoreland Co.

WESTMORELAND CO, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Greensburg say a 66-year-old man has died following an apartment fire in Hempfield Township last Sunday, according to a news release. Troopers say the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Humphrey Apartments, located at 512 Humphrey Road, in Westmoreland County. Man gave homeless woman $20 to watch granddaughter while he went to bar

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KMPH) — A man was arrested on Monday after deputies said he paid a homeless woman $20 to take his 7-year-old granddaughter to a nearby thrift store so he could go to a bar in Sacramento. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 7:45 p.m. with the caller reporting a man, later identified as 54-year-old Jason Warren, was asking for help because his granddaughter had been kidnapped for human trafficking. Philipsburg man arrested, charged for assaulting, threatening woman

Road closed after fuel spills onto street, into river

DAVIDSVILLE — Up to 100 gallons of fuel spilled on South Main Street, as well as into the nearby Stonycreek River, Saturday night, according to emergency officials. Jerome Fire Chief Tom Hughes told 6 News that the spill would not affect drinking water, but that they were taking steps to block the fuel from spreading downriver. The fuel spill happened after a tanker truck driver tried to fill up the wrong gas tank at Davidsville Fuel, a BP gas station, during a delivery, causing it to overflow and spray fuel into the parking lot.
