Ringling Bros. circus cars find new home, role

DUBOIS - Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus said its final farewell to a sold-out crowd in May, but what was known as "The Greatest Show on Earth" wasn't confined to a big-top tent or big-city arena. The greatness was also on the rails. Two of the last circus cars are now at home in DuBois at The Depot at Doolittle's on Rich Highway. Tyrone baseball captures gold, Ligonier Valley softball falls just short

UNIVERSITY PARK -- The PIAA baseball and softball championships rolled into Happy Valley Thursday.

On the baseball diamond, Tyrone captured a state championship with a 5-0 defeat of Oley Valley.

In softball, Ligonier Valley's historic run fell just short with a 1-0 loss in extra innings to Line Mountain.

Woman charged for hindering investigation into fatal Johnstown shooting

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Johnstown Police Department have charged a city woman for allegedly hindering the investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred in February. Police say Jasmine Dorsey, 23, faces one count of hindering apprehension/prosecution following the Feb. 12 shooting along Ash Street. According to the affidavit, Dorsey was one of several individuals that witnessed or was involved in an altercation outside of 900 Place, an after-hours establishment, on the night/morning of the shooting. Auroras dazzle Northern Hemisphere as rare solar storm sweeps Earth

WASHINGTON (TND) — People across the Northern Hemisphere were treated to a dazzling light show late Friday and early Saturday after a rare solar storm swept Earth. NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center said Saturday morning on X that extreme G5 conditions were observed and there have been reports of "power grid irregularities and degradation to high-frequency communications and GPS." Officer shot dead near Cleveland, authorities searching for suspect

EUCLID, Ohio (WSYX) — Authorities in Cuyahoga County say a man accused of shooting and killing a police officer in Euclid on Saturday night is dead. Police responded to a call about a disturbance in the Cleveland suburb just after 9 p.m. on Saturday. An officer who was later identified as Jacob Derbin was shot in the incident and later died. Suspect in Dale Borough shooting, car crash arrested in Georgia, DA confirms

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say the suspect in a shooting and subsequent car crash in Dale Borough earlier this year has been taken into custody. Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer has confirmed that Tyree Carter was arrested this week in Henry County, Georgia by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Windber community dresses up as ghosts to set world record

WINDBER -- If you were driving through Windber in Somerset County Saturday afternoon, you may have noticed dozens of people draped in white sheets near the side of the road. That's because more than 200 people attempted to break a Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as ghosts.
