Rockers Buckcherry, Warrant to headline final night of 2023 Thunder in the Valley

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — On Friday, Johnstown officials released the headlining acts for the 2023 Thunder in the Valley Motorcycle Rally. Famous rock bands Buckcherry and Warrant are among this year's headlining performers. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Thunder in the Valley, which will take place from June 22-25. SCI Benner Township reports inmate death

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — An inmate at State Correctional Institute Benner Township was found unresponsive in his cell Wednesday and later pronounced dead, according to officials. Superintendent Robert Marsh reported that 23-year-old Derric Harsh was found just before midnight and prison staff responded immediately, providing lifesaving measures. Harsh was transferred to Mt. Nittany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:08 a.m., according to officials. The official cause of death will be determined by the Centre County Coroner’s Office. [Read More]

37 charged in Blair County drug bust

ALTOONA — Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Friday that criminal charges have been filed against 37 people accused of distributing or possessing illegal drugs in Blair County. The charges are the culmination of a yearlong cooperative investigation between the Office of Attorney General, the Blair County Drug Task Force and the Altoona Police Department. The investigation primarily focused on the distribution of heroin and prescription drugs in Blair County. Biden ballot issue in Ohio to be resolved in special session starting Tuesday

(TCS) — Ohio lawmakers will return to Columbus on Tuesday, attempting to pass legislation securing President Joe Biden’s name on the November ballot. Gov. Mike DeWine called for a special session late Thursday. In a brief press conference, the Republican governor was perturbed, saying it was “ridiculous” that legislation hadn’t passed earlier. DA asks probation be revoked for Centre County judge

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) -- A former Centre County judge has found himself on the other side of the law, again. Former President Judge Thomas Kistler was charged with DUI last fall and placed in a special probation program known as ARD. It's a program used for first-time offenders. But now, Kistler is accused of violating the terms of his probation by recently consuming alcohol. Gun used in Kennywood shooting was reported stolen, police say

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. (AP) — A gun found after a shooting over the weekend at a western Pennsylvania amusement park that wounded three people, including two teenagers, had been reported stolen in Ohio last year, authorities said. Allegheny County police said Monday that a trace of the weapon found after Saturday night’s shooting at Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, southeast of Pittsburgh, indicated that the firearm had been reported stolen from a vehicle in Columbus in August 2021.
