SCASD student crowned queen of 2021 Grange Fair

Friday was the opening night of the Grange Fair in Centre County, which included the opening ceremony, truck pulling, an animal dressing contest, line dancing and much more.

The Grange Fair runs through next Saturday.

This year's Grange Fair queen is State College Area high school student Mattee Stoicheff, who was crowned on Wednesday at the fairgrounds in Centre Hall.

She has been coming to the fair since she was an infant and her family has had a tent at the fair for many years.

She says she was inspired to run by last year's queen, Morgan Bair.

"Morgan always went above and beyond. And I realized how important that is for somebody being an ambassador of the fair. The more you do, the more you promote, the more people you can bring in. So, I felt very confident that I could also go above and beyond."

The other two contestants were Bald Eagle Area high school student Hailey Bucha and Philipsburg native, and current Susquehanna University student, Roselyn Weaver.
