ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Sheetz announced Thursday that they will be participating in a new fundraising campaign in support of the Special Olympics. Throughout the month of October, customers will have the opportunity to donate to the nonprofit organization, either by adding donations to their purchase at the point of sale, or by dropping money into donation boxes that will be placed near the registers, according to a company release.
At the end of the month, the store that raises the most money will then receive a "special celebration" from the company.
“Special Olympics has always been near and dear to our heart, and is an incredible organization we’re proud to support,” said Ryan Sheetz, AVP, Brand Strategies at Sheetz. “We are constantly working to grow our contributions and expand the ways that we can make a difference for this organization. Our goal is to make a greater impact, year after year. This campaign was designed to do just that.”
This campaign is further proof of the company's commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. The release also stated that Sheetz will continue to support the Special Olympics year round at both their Summer Games and Polar Plunge events. And the company will also continue its tradition of donating $2,500 to the the local Special Olympics chapter in every state whenever it opens a new store.
